Abstract

Nasal polyp has a prevalence rate of 1 to 4% in the general population. The patients’ assessment was carried out through domestically revised Snot-22 questionnaire to assess the life quality and the severity of the clinical symptoms. Participants were advised to apply the Mentha Longifolia nasal spray 2 puffs in each nostril every 12 hours in addition with a single 10 mg cetirizine tablet once a day for 4 weeks. The life quality and severity of clinical symptoms of the patients before the intervention was recorded as 38.20 ± 5.47. This record was reduced to 21.10 ± 4.27 two weeks after treatment and 10.30 ± 2.09 four weeks after treatment. Based on the results, a decrease was observed in the severity of the clinical symptoms and consequently, the improvement in the quality of life of the patients after the use of 1.5% Mentha Longifolia nasal spray.
